Unified Radiology Fall/Winter Retreat 2024

On December 3rd, Unified Radiology held its bi-annual membership meeting in Chicago. A new addition to the agenda was incorporating a marketplace setting where Unified Radiology members could interact with leading radiology technology, medical malpractice, and teleradiology companies before the meeting. Some primary topics throughout the day-long meeting, openly discussed in a roundtable format, included radiology practice and hospital relationships and how members tackle “evolving models” (compensation, RAs/RPAs, RVU management, overnight coverage, etc.). Unified Radiology’s three pillars were also discussed: management services, technology (artificial intelligence, common workflow platform), and teleradiology (overnights, weekends, greater sub-specialization).

On May 2nd, Unified Radiology held its bi-annual membership meeting in Philadelphia. Throughout the day, members shared valuable insights and best practices on topics such as scheduling strategies, compensation models, how best to utilize RAs/RPAs, and strategic approaches to RVU management. Also discussed were Unified Radiology’s three pillars: management services, technology (common workflow platform, artificial intelligence), and teleradiology (overnights, weekends, greater sub-specialization). Additionally, members were given updates on the medical malpractice and cyber liability insurance markets. The meeting concluded with members sharing current and future collaboration opportunities across their practices.

In November, Unified Radiology member practices met in person as well as virtually for a day of collaboration and networking during the Unified Radiology Fall/Winter Retreat held in Chicago. The retreat included detailed discussions around topics such as medical malpractice, management services, technology solutions, teleradiology coverage, and clinical analytics/benchmarks. The day wrapped up with roundtable discussions on hiring in today’s challenging marketing, meeting hospital and referring physician expectations, and the various ways private practices can merge to maintain strength and independence.

In early May, Unified Radiology held its bi-annual membership meeting in Philadelphia. Due to COVID-19, the meeting was held in a hybrid format with members attending in-person and virtually. The agenda covered a wide range of topics including the Unified Radiology “three pillars” (technology, teleradiology, and management services), clinical analytics, medical malpractice, and other insurances, artificial intelligence, and quality programs. The meeting’s keynote speaker was Dr. Howard Fleishon, Associate Chair at Emory University, who discussed the current state of the radiology market.
